Thoughts From Pastor
Several Months ago I received a call from Georgetown Friends Church informing me that they were searching for a new pastor and asked if I would be interested in visiting. My wife Audrey and I felt called to respond to the invitation and made the journey from our little apartment in Kansas to see what God was doing. When we arrived we instantly felt so at home with this welcoming church family. We felt like we could really be ourselves. I was so impressed by these men and women whom I felt truly understood the Gospel and had a strong desire to follow Jesus. Immediately after the interview I looked at Audrey and said “I believe that this is where we are supposed to be”. God brought both of us such a peace about coming to this community. Just a few weeks ago Audrey, our new son Judah and I moved into town to start the new adventure that God has for us and Georgetown Friends. We have felt so welcomed and loved by this community and are so excited to grow in our friendships and see what God does. Georgetown Friends Church’s logo is a lighthouse, and I believe that is what this church is. We are a community of Jesus followers who have a desire to be a light in the darkness, a place where the hopeless will find hope, and where the hurting can find healing. I believe God has and will continue to do amazing things here and I am incredibly blessed to be a part of it.
